Story behind Aaji Care

Our Founder & CEO, Prasad Bhide, faced dilemmas, guilt, distress, and hassles while managing post-operative care for his mother and grandmother while staying in the USA. So he left his high-paying IT job to start a social enterprise called Aaji Care in 2012. His thought was to make sure other middle-class families do not have to face similar challenges like him and his family and improve the quality of care delivered to elders at home. Aaji Care provides two-fold impact; one is to empower elders through various services which will enhance the quality of life for elders and their families second is to create distinguished careers for caregivers dominated by women.

Dr Priyadarshini Kulkarni

Ex Medical Director of Cipla Palliative Care

Dr Priyadarshini Kulkarni is a Fellow of the National Cancer Centre in Singapore. An anesthetist by training, Dr. Kulkarni has been a successful palliative care specialist for the past 19 years. She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Health (Palliative Medicine) from Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. She also completed MSc in Palliative Medicine from Cardiff University, UK.

The previous prestigious positions held by her are Medical Director of Cipla Palliative Care and Training Centre, Pune., National Secretary of the Indian Association of Palliative Care.

She has served as a board member of the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA), and Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN)

Manish Panchal

Board Member/Strategic Advisor/Author

Mr. Panchal is an Independent Director of IL&FS AMF. He was Senior Practice Head – Life Sciences & Healthcare at TATA Strategic Management Group. Mr. Panchal has over 27 years of professional experience and has worked with leading transnational healthcare companies like Abbott, J&J and B.Braun. Mr. Panchal has full business cycle work experience, which includes Sales & Marketing, Business Development, planning and executing corporate strategy, business and operational process improvement, and managing Independent P&L. Mr. Panchal is a recognized thought leader and has received several awards for his contribution to Industry & Academia. Mr. Panchal holds a Masters in Management from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Manila, Philippines.

Mittal Shah

Mittal is an author of the bestseller, Idea to Unicorn: 7 Habits and behaviour of successful startup founder.

Mittal has been associated with Aaji Care since Oct 2013 as an advisor. He has worked with various companies including Accenture, Larsen & Toubro, TCS on challenging consulting assignments with fortune 500 clients in New York, London, Paris, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok.

Mittal holds a Bachelor in Engineering and a Masters in International Finance. He currently lives in Mumbai.
